Houseboating is a wonderful experience. For the uninitiated, however, it can be a bit daunting to begin with. You probably have a veritable ‘boatload' of questions. Here are some answers to the more commonly asked ones. We are always available and happy to answer any other queries you may have. Simply give us a call or send us an email.
Q. Can anyone drive a Houseboat? A. YES! The only prerequisites are that you are over 18 years of age and possess a good dash of common sense! On the day of your departure, one of our friendly staff will give you a full briefing on the operation and navigation of your Houseboat and then take you for a short cruise just to make sure you are confident before handing over the helm.
Q. What happens if I need some help? A. We are only a phone call away! Simply call us on the 2 way radio or on your mobile phone and we will assist you as promptly as humanly possible. We provide you with after hours emergency numbers as well.
Q. What is my cruising area? A. From MacLeay Island in the North to as far South as the Northern end of Wavebreak Island. See our Mud Map of the cruising ground under Maps & Places .
Q. What is on the boat? A. Just about everything you can imagine! Refer to the checklist under Facilities for a comprehensive lisiting of what is provided.
Q. What do I need to bring? A. All you need to bring is your food, beverages, personal toiletries, a sharp knife, a torch, beach towels, CDs, mobile phone, fishing equipment and crab pots (if desired), a good book and of course, pleasant company to share the good times with!
Q. Where can I leave my car while I'm away? A. We have a lock up, flood lit car park with 24 hour security. We charge a modest fee of $10 per car for the duration of your holiday.
Q. What other activities can I do while I'm on the water? A. We are always lining up some exciting extra water and land based activities you may wish to try whilst on holiday. For more information just visit Activities under Facilities or ask us prior to your trip.
Q. Can I bring my pets on board the boat? A. Unfortunately we cannot legally permit cats and dogs on board any of our vessels. This is in accordance with Queensland Parks & Wildlife and Health & Safety Restrictions.
Q. What happens when we return? A. Once we clear your bond and finalise your outstanding Fuel account, we farewell you with heavy hearts but welcome you to pre-book your next marvellous houseboating holiday with Coomera Houseboat Holidays so you don't miss out!
